It's been a while, hasn't it? The holidays, despite being shorter than ever, took up more time than I expected. So, the short summary:
I went back to America for a couple of days, saw my family and some of my friends, and ate like it was going out of style. Either I've been undernourished in Japan, or I'm just a glutton.
Then I went to England for a couple of days, and saw my girlfriend. That also was great, but for different reasons. One of which is that it's much more expensive to eat like a Roman with season tickets to the vomitorium in the UK than the US.
For the record, every time I try to refer to my girlfriend, I can't help thinking of the scene in "The Big Leibowski" that attempts to clarify the Dude's relationship with Maude. Not so much because I'm trying to replace the rug that was the spiritual center of my room, but because of the inadequacy of modern conversational English to provide me with a suitable word that couldn't also be applied to a thirteen year-old. And somehow, ladyfriend doesn't seem right either.
Besides that, there's a whole ton of things I've got to tell you, but they'll have to wait until I get some more time. This crap doesn't type itself you know.
Happy year of the dog, all you sons of bitches. You daughters of bastards, too.
What the hell. Happy 2006 to all you jerks, whatever your gender and whichever of your parents sucked.
